To freeze or not to freeze... That is the question...

So this week I felt a little more creative than normal and decided to try something different.  For awhile now I've been thinking about doing some fine art photography that would look good in a kitchen setting.  The idea came from dropping vegetables or fruit into water and trying to photograph them as they pierce the surface.  The journey began at your everyday supermarket as I looked for props.  After a few moments it soon became apparent that bell peppers would be my weapon of choice.  These photos were all done in my kitchen and I had a great time doing it!  Take a look at my top choices for this project and let me know what you think!!

The Bay at night...

Night photography has always been a passion of mine.  There is nothing better than bringing my camera and tripod, to spending an hour or two trying to capture that perfect image!  I know night shots have been commonly done throughout the history of photography, but every time I'm out there it still gets me.  The image below was done at pier located in San Francisco at the end of Van Ness Avenue where crabbing and fishing are quite popular.  Also this was taken about 2 weeks ago right after a huge rain storm to give off that super clear sky.  Enjoy and more to come soon!

Princess Savannah turns 1...

This weekend we were lucky enough to be part of Savannah's 1st birthday party!  With a Princess theme, the party featured a surprise special guest of Cinderella.  The afternoon was filled with delicious food, a magic show, balloon animals, and the laughter from children and adults.  Congratulations to Princess Savannah for turning #1 and we look forward to celebrating future birthdays with her.  Please enjoy some of these images from the day and for full gallery please see here

94.9 Wild Jam - November 2008 Edition

Well it's that time again!  Radio station 94.9 of the Bay Area put together their famous Wild Jam along with sponsor Boost Mobile.  The show was a smash and featured some today's hottest artists like T.I., Akon, Ciara, and Ludacris to name just a few.  The show itself ran fairly smooth and gave all it's guest their money's worth!  Big props to 94.9 and boost mobile for putting on such a successful show and we all look forward to them having more in the future!  Here are some highlights of the night and enjoy!

Nikki's Photo session...

Long-time friend Nikki Tuminez needed to update her modeling portfolio and I was happy to help her out.  The session was done in downtown Dublin against a abandoned business's exterior brick-wall, which made an excellent backdrop.  We had a great time working with her and look forward to seeing all her success in the future.

Where the heck is Waldo!

Dressing up for Halloween at work can sometimes lead to questions like "Ummm do you think this is appropriate at work?" or "Am I going to be the only one dressed up?".  But this year none of these questions crossed my mind.  A bunch of people in the department participated in trying to reenact Where's Waldo!  And believe it or not I think we did a good job and pulled it off!  Enjoy some photos from yesterday's #1 holiday for adults!!

Photoshop Before and After...

Recently some people have asked me how I get my photos look so vivid or crisp, and the simple answer to that is Adobe's Photoshop.  Now photoshop can not save your "bad" photo's, but it surly can enhance them.  A not so great photo, can easily be turned into a magnificent one!  I truly believe that the art of photography is how a photographer can pose an individual or object,  and make them come alive to give your audience a feel that they are actually there.  It is also about understanding the characteristics of light and making it work for you!  Without understanding these 2 concepts, photoshop will do little to help you.  Below is just a sample of an image as it was caught in camera and an after edit in photoshop.  Enjoy and go learn some photoshop!
